The Town of Terry is, once again, without a medical professional to serve the community. The Nurse Practioner that was on staff has closed the clinic. It was located in the historic Combs Drug Store Building. There are elderly residents, and others, in our community that clearly need the services of a medical professional due to transportation and other needs as well. Hopefully, another medical group will come soon to serve our community.
It has been noted the town has been awarded a new flag for City Hall. The Woodsmen of the World, presented by Pam Jones, donated the flag to the town recently. Of special note--the flags that are usually flanking the light poles along Cunningham Avenue were not out for the Labor Day holiday this year. New flags were recently purchased for the town's celebration of America 250. Hopefully, this was an oversight and flags will be flying for the next patriotic holiday!
The James Foster and Annandale Chapters of MSSDAR will host Constitution Day on the grounds of the Hinds County Courthouse in Raymond on Tuesday, September 22 at 4 o'clock. All the bells in the community will toll in celebration. The guest speaker will be Shana Fondren. Lemonade and cookies will be served to guests. We invite everyone to come out and join us for this patriotic outing. Martha Ferguson has served as chairman of Constitution Day for over 50 years. Thank you, Martha.
First Baptist Church, Terry will be hosting the annual Ladies Night this Saturday, September 18 at 6 pm.
MDAH is featuring a free screening of The Color of Conservation at 2 pm on Sunday, September 20 in the Craig Nelson Auditorium at the Two Museums. The public is invited to attend.
This was a fun weekend. Connor and Kaelin, Grandsons, came for a visit on Sunday afternoon. Kaelin brought his fiancee, Bailey, for a visit as well. They came to reveal their wedding plans for next June. Bailey is a teacher at Terry High School. We are very excited with the news!
