The Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Terry was all decked out for the 90th birthday party for Jackie Slay. The affair was well attended by well wishers. Jackie was sitting underneath a large balloon arch greeting her guests. The food was delicious. Happy Birthday to a very special lady!!
The newly formed historical organization, MS Heritage Forum, held the first meeting at River Hills Club on Saturday. The guest speaker was Mike Bunn and his topic was the Fourteenth Colony - the forgotten story - Gulf South during Americas Revolutionary Era. The food was delicious and the event was well attended. It was enjoyed by the history buffs.
We were all saddened to hear of the death of Elsie Mae Whitehead Shack last week. There was a graveside service at 3 o'clock on Sun in the Town of Terry Cemetery. Elsie Mae was the widow of Charles Shack. They had two lovely daughters, Norma Joyce and Janie. We extend our condolences to them and the entire Whitehead and Shack families.
A James Foster Chapter, MSSDAR, nominating committee was held in the home of Carolyn Clements last week. Attending were: Bette Poole and Kathy Henry of Madison, Judy Fortenberry of Brandon and Roony Davis of Terry. Light refreshments of homemade lemonade and cookies were served to guests.
