Hinds Community College’s Raymond Campus will host a Genealogy Workshop from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov.7 in the Bucci Room of the Raymond McLendon Library. Erin Feathers, an amateur genealogist and family history researcher, will serve as the presenter for the event.

Feathers is a member of multiple historical and genealogical societies and served as President of the Mississippi Genealogical Society from May 2019 to May 2022. She continues to serve in the organization as the corresponding secretary and social media/web specialist. Feathers is also a member of the National Genealogical Society (NGS) and Tennessee Genealogical Society.

Additionally, she maintains memberships in genealogical education groups, including Legacy Family Tree Webinars and the Association of Professional Genealogists.

Her desire to study genealogy began at a young age. It led Feathers to complete coursework at Brigham Young University, the Institute of Historical and Genealogical Research, and the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh.

Feathers has attended and participated in multiple RootsTech and NGS conferences led by industry experts, and has assisted professional genealogists in gathering needed resources for client research.
